I'm Mandy
welcome to kindred
I’m glad you’re here!
Hi folks! I’m Mandy Jankus, a teacher, mother, Certified Life Coach, and Daring Way Facilitator living in the Greater Chicago area. Like most people, I’ve had my fair share of emotional bumps and bruises. During those dark hours, I’ve found immense support in Dr. Brené Brown’s research on vulnerability, courage-building, and shame resilience. Today, I’m honored to use her curriculum—combined with tenants of social-emotional learning—to facilitate whole-hearted conversations with students, faculty, women-led organizations, and a small number of individual coaching clients.

Leaning into discomfort has changed my life and deeply impacted my approach to teaching and coaching.
Our natural response is to numb—or run from—painful emotions. Whether it’s trauma, grief, or a difficult truth, we’re taught to tuck it away or suck it up. But what if we took the opposite approach? Together, we will find the courage to lean into discomfort, to listen to our hearts, and to treat ourselves and others with heartfelt empathy.
