we didn’t get to have a service for my mom (pandemic)

I began writing her eulogy while I’d toss & turn in anticipatory grief, knowing she was dying.

I felt stripped of the opportunity to honor her & share her stories.

There is so much lately that I want to ask this little girl. Or maybe I want to ask my mom about this little girl. 

Here I am at my daughter’s age. I look at her and see me and I look at me and see her - reflection. 

I have been inv

I had my biggest & most difficult grief landmine this weekend 💔

at a restaurant my daughter (4) watched a woman sit down & said
“mommy, is that grandma?”
the woman vaguely resembled my mom.

I was immediately flooded with emo

the universe has your back ✨💛🙏🏼

that was our mantra. I feel my mom every single day & I listened to this episode bursting with pride.

just 1 week ago I was at SXSWEDU giving a workshop that I was dreaming of when I was interviewed on @hardt
